Pledge to Attend the Amazon Data Center Hearing on February 14

Thank you for being part of the overwhelming opposition to the Amazon data center on Blackwell Road. We are still "all in" to stop Amazon. So are our allies, Citizens for Fauquier County and the Piedmont Environmental Council.

It looks like Valentine's Day, February 14, will be the final show-down:  another public hearing by the Town Council, likely at Fauquier High School (instead of Town Hall) with a likely final vote. We have seen cracks in the Amazon facade. If we can get just one Town Council member to switch to vote against Amazon, we can pull off a "David vs. Goliath" feat.

To help us, we have several requests for each of you:

Please pledge to attend the February 14 hearing, at 6:30 pm, at Fauquier High School.
We need a big turnout to fill the FHS auditorium.  A very big turnout. Please help us fill those seats. Bring your whole family, and neighbors and friends.  We would also like to see our local high school students there, as an experience in democracy. Celebrate Valentine's Day by showing your love of Warrenton and Fauquier. Wear red!

Please consider signing up to speak.
Those who already spoke at the 1/10 hearing are not allowed to speak again, so we need a whole new set of speakers.  We will let you know when the Town issues a sign-up link to speak on 2/14, but it has not yet been released. You can speak for just one minute, or up to three minutes.

Meanwhile:  Send letters and emails to the Town Council.*
Reiterate that our small historic town is no place for a massive data center. Remind them data centers are incessantly noisy and will hurt the nearby residential neighborhoods. Keep a civil tone, we want to win them over. If you feel compelled to attack, aim at Amazon and their deceptions. Send them this visualization to drive home the point that this data center will overwhelm the small, neighborly town that we cherish.

To pledge to attend and/or speak at the hearing, please go here and add your name. After you add your info to the spreadsheet, just exit.  It automatically updates information so you don't need to "save" it.
