Town Council Member Jay Heroux’s Business Ties to Amazon Prompt Data Center Vote Recusal Request

Residents of Warrenton Ward 5 are requesting that their Council member, Jay Heroux, recuse himself from Town Council discussions and votes on the proposed Amazon Data Center.

Heroux is VP of a small tech firm, Definitive Logic, that has business ties to Amazon Web Services and partners with Amazon on projects.  These ties present a clear conflict of interest under the Warrenton Charter and Code of Ethics.

Residents of Warrenton Ward 5 who would like to sign the letter requesting Heroux to recuse himself should email eric@jumpcode.com

All residents of Warrenton and Fauquier County are encouraged to email Mr. Heroux if you have concerns about this conflict of interest:  jheroux@warrentonva.gov

  • Read and download the open recusal request letter to Warrenton residents, Town Officials and local media here.

  • View and download examples of Council Member Heroux’s conflict of interests here.

The Town Council may vote on the Amazon data center as soon as Tuesday January 10 -- just 11 days from the date of this posting.
