Bill Semple Announces Candidacy for Warrenton Town Council
Bill Semple—a longtime stalwart ally of Protect Fauquier in opposing the Amazon data center and in establishing a transparent Town Council that is responsive to citizens—has announced his candidacy as the Ward 2 representative of the Warrenton Town Council! Please read is fully announcement statement below!
Dear Neighbor:
I am pleased and excited to announce that I am running for a second term as your Ward 2 representative on the Town Council.
Over the past four years, I've had both the honor and privilege of serving you. From regional issues threatening our entire community to more individual concerns, I have worked every day to respond to the needs of my constituents and the community at large.
Your support has given me strength and inspiration. Whether crossing paths as I walk my dog, Sophie, meeting at Town Hall, email, text or by phone call, I've enjoyed learning your passions for our wonderful town. But as I walked the streets of our ward, I also heard your frustrations with our Council’s continuing failure to honor and respect the citizens the Council was elected to serve.
After four years, I have a stronger insight into and a better understanding of the issues/challenges facing Warrenton, especially what it will take to restore the trust of our citizens in a town government that frequently ignores the will of the people. Because other like-minded citizens have or will soon announce candidacies for the other wards, I feel called to offer this experience and knowledge.
Election day is not until November 5. Before then, I intend to share with you through a patient and informative process my legislative record and to outline what I hope to accomplish in the future, with the kind of campaign thoughtful citizens deserve. It will also give you an opportunity to share your thoughts about how we can become a more effective government on your behalf.
Regards,
William T. Semple
