Town Hall Meeting on Data Centers and Transmission Lines in Warrenton Scheduled for Nov 13 @ 6pm

Join our coalition of local community groups, Citizens for Fauquier County, The Piedmont Environmental Council, Protect Catlett and Protect Fauquier, for a town hall forum about the potential for new transmission line projects proposed in Fauquier County and surrounding areas tied to the explosive growth of data centers in the region. We will also provide an update on the Amazon data center in Warrenton.

On October 31, PJM, the organization that coordinates electricity transmission in 13 states and the District of Columbia, published their preferred options for transmission line routes. There is one major proposal in Fauquier on PJM’s short list but five alternative routes could criss-cross up to 80 miles of the county. These expansion projects are being driven by the enormous amount of electricity demand coming from the explosion of data centers in Northern Virginia.

The event will start with a few presentations by the host organizations and include plenty of time for attendees to ask questions and learn about actions they can take.

Space is limited. Please register on Eventbrite to guarantee your spot: https://www.eventbrite.com/.../town-hall-meeting-data...

Check out PEC's web map that details some of the regional transmission proposals under consideration due to data center demand growth: https://www.pecva.org/transmissionmap.
