Warrenton Planning Commission Extends Public Hearing On Amazon Data Center to Nov 22

On Tuesday, November 15, the Warrenton Planning Commission voted to extend its public hearing on Amazon’s data center SUP until November 22 to accommodate people who did not get a chance to speak during Tuesday’s meeting. Nearly 100 local residents signed up to speak at the hearing, but only approximately 60 were able to speak during the three-and-half-hour hearing.

Instead of voting on Amazon’s special-use permit to build a data center in Warrenton, the commissioners listened to impassioned speeches mainly from town and county residents who implored the commissioners to either delay the public hearing until Amazon could provide concrete information on noise levels generated from the data center or recommend the Town Council deny the application.

Protect Fauquier implores all community members against the proposed data center on Blackwell Road to attend AND SPEAK IN OPPOSITION at this public hearing! Anyone who didn’t get to speak November 15, may sign up and speak on November 22!
