Loudon County Board of Supervisors Rejects Belmont Innovation Data Center Proposal

This Loudoun decision truly is noteworthy. Not only because the Loudoun BOS turned down the data center rezoning, but because they cited the magnitude of electric power demand on our electric grid as a reason. This decision potentially sets a precedent for Northern Virginia.

Loudoun Chair Phyllis Randall, before the vote: “I don’t know how we keep doing this. I don’t know how we keep ignoring 80% of our public who are making very good points.”
